Abstract:
This project delves into the Kashmir border disputes between India and China, a region marked by immense historical disputes and strategic complexities, providing key insight into the power dynamics of Asia. This study examines the territorial, political, and strategic nuances of the Kashmir conflict, unraveling how these decades-long disputes have shaped and reshaped the geopolitical landscape of the region and fostered polarized narratives among Indian and Chinese communities. It begins with a comprehensive deep dive into the historical background of the conflict, emphasizing the less-highlighted Kashmiri history and the Indo-China aspect of the conflict. The project then analyzes the legal and political accounts of India and China, dissecting policy approaches and state interests to understand the evolving geopolitical landscape. A key component is assessing the current implications of the dispute for regional stability and diplomatic relations. Furthermore, the study explores the perpetuation of nationalistic narratives within Indian and Chinese communities, influenced by media and political rhetoric, providing a lens to explore the emotional and ideological divides intensified by these disputes. The project culminates in a website, presenting a synthesis of research findings and offering a unique perspective that bridges the gap between diverse cultural narratives and complex geopolitical dialogues.
